Although I haven't played this game for about 5 years, my brother and I still find ourselves saying the Zippy 'chant' and the Telegram man.
This was very very fun. I liked the puzzles in this game. I was able to figure them out without having to search online, which I liked. I did not like having to drive to each location. Steering with the keyboard is not the easiest. I feel that the game ended abruptly. I felt that I still had a few steps left. This was the very first game I played at about 6 or 7.
It's classic and true to the books and while its much different from the rest of the games, it had me hooked for life. Something about the characters and the setting mixed with the music gives it this lively yet eerie feel. The change of setting and time period hit the nail on the head s far as execution. This was my first Nancy Drew game. I liked it so much that I became a fan and now own most of the Nancy Drew games. Yet Secret of the Old Clock is my favorite.
It is a great game, and I'm so glad that it can still be played on Windows 10 all these years later! I loved the setting, the plot, the music, the time, everything! It was quite easy, which was fun for once. But it was over so soon! That was a shame Set in the 30's play the story that started it all, Nancy Drew visits the Lilac Inn to see Helen Corning whose mother has recently died, strange things are happening at the Inn, jewelry disappears, the stove explodes and Helen seems to be losing it.

Note the giant golf ball stand with a puzzle, the red booth to get the golf clubs, ball and scorecard and the prize booth. Giant golf ball - Read the instructions for the golf ball game. The object of the puzzle is to figure out the sequence of the colored golf balls hidden at the right panel.
This is a random puzzle. To play, move a colored ball in the bottom row to a tee in the first column on the left. Do this to all 4 tees. Then push the golf club button at lower right to see how you guessed.
If a stick with a flag is seen - it means one of the balls in the column is in the correct order and correct color. If only a stick is seen - it means one of the balls in the column has correct color but in the wrong position.
If no stick is seen, it means one of the balls does not belong. The order of the clues is not correlated with the solution. From here on - logic prevails. You can deduce the correct color and position in subsequent columns. The ball can be replaced by another one by clicking it on another colored ball before clicking the golf club.

Click on a letter of each of the 4 wheels-openings to form Keen, Omar, Pony and Lois. After each correct entry, a red triangle appears on the diamond at center of the door.
The door opens when all 4 correct words are entered. Look around and note that each corner of the Carriage house has a metal holder for something.
